Dance Artist & Educator

Bio

Dance artist and educator, Sarah Coolidge, has an M.F.A. in Interdisciplinary Arts from Goddard College and B.A. in Dance from Marymount Manhattan College, as well as certifications as a Functional Awareness Movement Educator and Pilates instructor with a specialization in dancers. Originally from Northern New York, Sarah studied under the direction of Allison Newton. She has performed with the BIODANCE, FuturPointe Dance, Grounded Ariel, Rochester Contemporary Dance Collective, Rochester Dance Project, Ajkun Ballet Theatre, and Rochester Lyric Opera, and also performed works by various independent artists including Ellen Sinopoli, Heather Roffe, and Kathy Diehl. 

Choreographer of dance and theatre since childhood, Sarah has had her work presented at numerous venues in the Northeast, including St. Lawrence University, Edwards Opera House, Rochester Contemporary Art Center, and Goddard College, and has been a guest artist at Nazareth College.  From 2006 to 2010, Coolidge served on the faculty at St. Lawrence University as Dance Program and Artistic Director in the Performance and Communication Arts Department, and has also taught at Nazareth University (formerly Nazareth College) and University of Rochester. Sarah is currently on faculty at SUNY Brockport and serving on the New York State Dance Education Association (NYSDEA) board as Director of Conferences.
